I listened to this Podcast today & Kron <3<3<3

He's so mellow, I think it's the way he speaks, so calm and steady.

Usually, the JRE Podcasts I find myself listening to are hilarious & fun especially with Eddie Bravo & I enjoy them but dang Kron Gracie.  I would listen to this Podcast again and just skip over Joe Rogan's parts haha just joking.

PS: I also listened to the JRE Podcast with Eddie Bravo and Rickson Gracie, it was super duper awesome, as much as Rickson didn't want to keep talking about the past Joe and Eddie still got some great stories out of him. The thing I noticed when Rickson was telling his stories was that it was absolutely silent, I turned my volume up to listen to Rickson and what I found was that he was crystal clear it was like Joe Rogan and Eddie Bravo's microphones were turned off but they were just as or even more captivated than I was and they were listening so intently you could almost feel it through the video, so awesome.  Hespect! and so much reverence for Rickson Gracie.

Advice to Myself- International Women's Day March 8, 2016

Be bold.
Embrace your weirdness.
Be kind.
Love fiercely, like you've never been hurt before.
Know your worth.
You don't need to be fearless, just courageous enough to face your fears.
Don't shy away from challenges- accept them & meet them with a good attitude and a smile.
Smile often.
Laugh wholeheartedly.
Keep your heart open.
Do not accept less than you deserve and you deserve to be treated well.
Do not accept a few sweet words & a charming tongue when actions do not match.
Be a fucking boss.
Be inspired.
Forget what everyone thinks.
Real friends are honest and will build you up- sometimes the truth hurts and they will tell it to you, it might hurt, you might cry, but they will be there to hold you or put a hand on your shoulder until the tears dry and wait until you realize you're being a fucking idiot, most importantly they won't judge you for it.
Tread lightly when it comes to another's feelings.
Don't judge.
Just live.
It's okay when someone describes you as sweet, it is not a sign of weakness.

Good Talk- Gems

This is a totally cheat entry but I am inspired to share the gems of wisdom my friend drops on me during the times that I have little to no grasp on my life whatsoever. I'm sure you'll be able to ascertain the gist of the conversation based on context so...

He texted me, "Enjoy this status while you can.  You may think it's a bad thing but better you learn lessons now than later." To which I replied, "Ok, I'll try not to freak out that I'm getting older." First gem of wisdom, "Everyone is getting older.  And [it] just so happens everyone who got married is getting divorced, so if you time it right everyone will be single soon :)." I'm not sure if you could imagine my reaction but I literally laughed-out-loud and said "thanks." I said "thanks," OUT LOUD, TO MY PHONE. 

So he's either dropping gems on the regular or he's Confucius in disguise because his next text was in reference to my admitted hangover...

He's the best- I don't think I could master the art of simultaneously acknowledging a situation and its gravity, completely empathizing, while putting its seriousness in perspective (c'mon kid it's not that bad) & providing insight in such a humorous way. That description was probably way too complicated & doesn't do it justice at all but what I do know is that I am very grateful.

I seriously lucked out, one day about five years ago I showed up and said, "hey, could you teach me jiu jitsu?" & he [& his bro] haven't been able to get rid of me since, lol.

I'm pretty sure this is my anthem, I've been hearing this song on Star 101.9 for a while now & fell in love <3<3<3.  Today, I watched the video...and it's amazing.  Reminiscent of the music videos I used to watch when I was a kid- '90s in the hizzy.

12/13/14 Wedding Gig plus video

I told Monica I would send her this video a couple months ago (sorry chicka) but I finally threw a couple of the clips together! Thanks to my sistah Misty for filming ^_^ 

Man, you guys should hear the actual beginning to this version of A Thousand Years, there's cello melody & with the right cellist it would be absolutely bomb!  We didn't have enough rehearsal time & I wasn't confident enough to attempt the melody, the last thing I would have wanted was to mess up while Monica's sister was walking down the aisle...yikes! 

I think I cry or at least tear up at every wedding we play at and most of the times I don't even personally know the people being married. The speeches the pastors give about marriage & sharing a life with someone else & sticking it out through the tough times, knowing & trusting that the person standing across from you will always be on your side, always be that one person in your corner you can lean on when the world gets dark. Oh, and the vows shared, promising their other-half undying love & a forever future, it's just so sweet, it pulls on my heart strings. 

Anyway, I can't help it. Love man, love. Part of me believes every word they say to each other. And I like how the pastor makes all the guests/witnesses accountable too, if all the people at the weddings supported the newly wed couple & made it their responsibilities that the two people try hard for their other-half I think there would be less divorce, but that's just me. 

Recently, one of my friends was having a rocky time in their relationship & I felt bad because I think they're a great couple who compliment each other well, they are sweet to each other, & I've seen nothing but admiration & respect coming from each of them towards the other.  They were having difficulties communicating with each other during a stressful time, so if things didn't work itself out, I was going to invite them both to a movie  without telling the other & leave when they both showed up. Set 'um up on a blind date heh heh I thought it would be a good plan, but being the great couple they are, things worked out for the best, yay!
